At A+UP, we see what young people can accomplish when they feel known, supported, and challenged. Our scholars are earning academic distinctions, taking college courses, and discovering the confidence that comes from being part of a team.

Your gift will help fund our expansion into 12th grade and support the Dianne Johnson High School Athletic Program, giving our scholars more opportunities to learn, lead, and succeed.

Your Support Builds on Real Results

Across Dianne Johnson High School and Paul Castro Middle School, our scholars are showing what’s possible:

  • Academic achievement: In its first two years, Dianne Johnson High School earned consecutive A ratings from the State of Texas and several Academic Distinctions.

  • A stronger school community: Attendance, discipline, and morale have improved as we continue building a campus culture rooted in belonging, accountability, and support.

  • A path to college: Our dual-credit program allows scholars to graduate with more than 60 hours of college credit. Students who maintain a B average, complete 30 college credit hours, and sustain 95% attendance qualify for a $5,000 annual University of Houston scholarship for up to three years.

  • Pride through athletics: Our first middle school basketball team went undefeated in the regular season and advanced to the playoff semifinals. Scholars and families are eager for more opportunities to participate.
